For the love of colour!

Remember when you used to get excited opening that new box of crayons in school?
I am hit with that same buzz every time I pick a colorful outfit for the day!

Embracing colors comes very naturally to me because of 3 reasons:

  1. I am from India. Our fashion has never been the gloomy grays ,blacks and whites. Traditionally these monotones are reserved for the more unfortunate events in life. Hence, I have grown up seeing a lot of people clad in bright , almost exploding burst of colors.
  2. I love painting. Talking about colors, what would I not give, to go back to those carefree days of painting sceneries and abstract paintings, using every last shade of crayon left in the box.

3.I love ethnic clothes. I would choose that comfy pair of  jeans over salwars any day.             But my choice of primary garment will almost always be a kurti!

Now, I know a lot of people are skeptics when it comes to embracing their love for color in their attires.
People who adore others in colourful attires, but consider colours just a tad bit flashy for themselves!

That’s where the prints come in!
Embrace one color at a time- blue being the safest option for attracting the least amount of attention, combined with some beautiful prints! We live in the world of block prints , screen prints and kalamkaris. Get that indigo blue kurta and pair it with your favorite white pant/palazzo and experience that fresh wave of energy hit you!

This Kurti, by Vedic is one of my wardrobe favorites. I love how this kurti has a beautifully painted riot of colors with an earthy print in a western silhouette! What better than this combo for a sunny day out? I paired this colour burst kurti, with a broad palazzo from “Morpankh”. I love the beautiful chikan cutwork detail at the bottom 🙂

And , because my outfit is never complete without jewelry, I wore these pretty rudraksh danglers and copper bangles to keep the subtle yet earthy bling intact. And finished the look with my favorite shade of MAC Ruby woo and Sequinned platform heels.

  2. For the love of colour! Yes! Super agree! it is a vivid outburst of colours splashed all around for us Indians. The plain Jane looks are so passé.
